| Illinois FarmHouse Foundation Council Scholarships |
| The Illinois Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity awards more than $7,000 annually to members and pledges of the chapter based on academic achievement and financial merit. These awards are made possible by generous gifts from Illinois FarmHouse alumni and awards range from $250 - $1,000. To be eligible and considered for awards, members and pledges complete the Scholarship Award application each spring and return it to the Foundation Council. |

Fred Francis Builder of Men Scholarship: Outstanding First-Year Member
• Each spring, three nominees will be selected from the previous calendar year's pledge classes of the Illinois chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity. The previous year's pledge class will select the three nominees. The nominees will be asked to apply and interview with the Illinois Foundation Council to receive the scholarship.
• The applicants will be judged upon their activities, academic record, and goals before pledging FarmHouse as well as during their pledge year at the chapter.
• The "Builder of Men" scholarship is a $1,000 annual award for a term of four years ($4,000 total) to pursue an education at the University of Illinois. The scholarship award is received at the completion of each academic year.
• Applicants must reside in the chapter house during the coming academic year and must continue to reside in the chapter house during the term of the scholarship.
• Recipients must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average to continue to receive the annual award.
• Must complete scholarship application to be eligible (financial statement optional)
Harold Morine Scholarship: Highest GPA (Sophomore and Junior)
• Sophomore with highest cumulative GPA for freshman year
• Junior with highest cumulative GPA for first two years
• Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA
• $400 each
• No application required
Robert Keefer Scholarship: GPA Improvement
• Most improved GPA from previous semester to current semester
• Everyone who achieves a 2.5 GPA or greater for current semester
• A grade improvement "floor" of 2.0 is utilized for calculation purposes
• Awarded each semester to new recipients
• Must reside in the chapter house the semester receiving the scholarship
• $300 for highest improvement; $200 for second highest improvement
• No application required
J. George Smith Scholarship: GPA Improvement (Pledges Only)
• Pledge with greatest GPA improvement during his pledge semester from 8 weeks to final grades
• New initiate with greatest GPA improvement from pledge semester to following semester
• $500 each
• No application required
Kevin Sandrock Memorial Scholarship: Outstanding Senior
• Senior or 5th year senior
• Based upon GPA improvement and/or financial merit
• Must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA to qualify
• Recipient need not reside in the chapter house
• Must apply and complete financial statement on scholarship application to be eligible
• $500 award
Ralph Johnson Scholarship: Senior Financial Merit Scholarship
• Based upon financial need
• Must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA to qualify
• Awarded to a senior (90 or more hours)
• Recipient must reside in the chapter house for the full academic year unless he graduates
• Must apply and complete financial statement on scholarship application to be eligible
• $250 award
Phillip Edgerley Scholarship: Active Member Financial Merit
• Based upon financial need
• Must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA to qualify
• Must be an active
• Recipient must reside in the chapter house for the full academic year unless he graduates
• Must complete financial statement on scholarship application to be eligible
• $500 award
Frank and Dorothy Mynard Scholarship: New Member Financial Merit
• Based upon financial need
• Must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA to qualify
• Must be a pledge or new initiate
• Recipient must reside in the chapter house for the full academic year unless he graduates
• Must apply and complete financial statement on scholarship application to be eligible
• $500 award
John Marshall Financial Merit Scholarship
• Based upon financial merit and/or contribution to the chapter
• Must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA to qualify
• May be an active or pledge
• Recipient must reside in the chapter house for the full academic year unless he graduates
• Must apply and complete financial statement on scholarship application to be eligible
• $500 award
William Benton Bunn Financial Merit Scholarship
• Awarded based upon financial need and/or overall chapter contribution as determined by the Illinois FarmHouse Foundation Council
• Must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA to qualify
• Must apply and complete financial statement on scholarship application to be eligible
• $400 award
Financial Merit Awards (Illinois Foundation Council General Fund)
• Awarded at the discretion of the Illinois Foundation Council
• Must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA to qualify
• Must apply and complete financial statement on scholarship application to be eligible
• Variable award(s) from $100 - $1,000
Ralph Dralle Scholarship Fund: Junior Merit Based
• Awarded to junior with highest level of campus involvement
• Must have at least 2.5 GPA to qualify
• Variable awards
Denny Mummert Award: Outstanding New Member Award
• Outstanding member of each year's pledge class
• Chosen by a vote of the pledge class (no scholarship application required)
• $125 scholarship award |
